A Greek restaurant! Really

The town was quit lively this evening with a market and a raised stage with live bands playing.   I really do like the atmosphere created by dark streets that have no lighting being lit from the lights of the market stalls.  All with the smell of various strange things being cooked and the smell of orange blossom and other fruit trees in the air.    For some reason Pop-Corn was the main snack with popcorn stalls all popping using rusty blackened cookers.    Traditional Moroccan music, at times drifting towards the sound of a Mariachi Band, playing in the background.  

So, surrounded and submerged in all this Moroccan culture we eat at a ...................... Greek Restaurant!  Because the Colective wanted something normal ????? Yes, yes, yes I know, like Brits eat out in Greek restaurants every night.   

I think the main reason we went there was it’s wide selection of alcohol, in what is otherwise a mainly tea total country.    Anyway the size of the gin measures made me very happy.  

So in this traditional Greek restaurant we ordered the following;

1 x Musaka 
1 x  Spaghetti Bolognese
3 x  Camel Tagines 
1 x Chicken Tagine
1 x Veal Escalope 
2 x Beef Tagine

So this confirms the only reason we were in a Greek restaurant was they served alcohol.   

I did not have the Camel, I have had it before and not impressed.   Interestingly, one person said it tasted like beef, one other said lamb and the third was not sure.  Horse was also on the menue and I don’t like horse meat, it leaves a strange taste in the mouth that stays for days.

  1. If I could just do the eating and drinking bits of the holiday and leave out the bike-riding in blistering heat (or hailstorms) then I'd join you next time.
