Hotel for tonight

Arrived at the hotel after a tough ride.   Now I know why there are so many wind farms in Northern Spain, IT’S WINDY.    Tough going through the mountain motorway  roads as they are all very high up and exposed, relief from the persistent wind only from the occasional mountain tunnel.

Tough on petrol as well as I was in a head wind all the way, burnt through nearly a tank going no distance at all.   Now find myself nearly on empty, so first thing tomorrow I need to find a petrol station.

The hospital did give me a letter to give to a doctor if  what ever I have gets worse, scanning it into Google Translate results in gibberish, but I assume it says something like “British Lilly Livered Hypochondriac.”   I did get my own paitiant bracelet.   I was going to keep it on as a badge of honour, but I thought that I might get mistaken later on the trip for an escapee from an institutional home.

What was nice on this trip was the sheepskin that I have fitted to the seat.  Nice and soft and warm on those cold Spanish roads.   Had the heated jacket on as well.   What was it that Spanish doctor said about being Lilly Livered!

I have not given the bike a name, but purhaps I should name the sheepskin?

Going to try an early start tomorrow, visit Sad Hill Cemetery, and then try to put in the miles to see how close I can get to Fort Bravo near Almaria before camping.

Off for something to eat now.
